UCO Max Chamber's Library Cafe
Group Project: Alyssa Holcomb, Stephanie Mitchell, Emily Berndt, Ceara Euliss
Libraries have adapted to modern times by creating spaces where all are included; the college community benefits from having a place to eat, gather, and complete homework. A cafe located on the first floor lets students select healthy food options, while remaining withing the library. The progression from quiet study spaces to collaborative environments allows students the freedom to choose how they wish to engage with their peers. Multiple seating arrangements open a dialogue between students, fostering a productive work ethic. Shades of blue, green, yellow, and orange create an energetic atmosphere and mimic colors easily found together in nature. Three distinct spaces of cafe, individual, and group seating transition seamlessly as these colors work well together. Students move forward in their education and sense of community by utilizing this space.
